JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment 2026 Out: Reporting Window Open Till June 26

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA)

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the Round 1 seat allotment result for the 2026 counselling cycle today, June 13. Candidates who registered for the process can now check their allotment status on the official portal at josaa.nic.in using their application number and password.

What the Allotment Result Contains

The Round 1 result indicates the institute and programme assigned to each candidate based on their JEE Main or JEE Advanced rank, category, and the preferences submitted during the choice-filling stage. Seats have been allocated across IITs, IISc, NITs, IIITs, and Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs).

Reporting Window: June 13 to June 26

Candidates who have received a seat must complete the online reporting process within the stipulated window, which closes on June 26, 2026. The reporting procedure involves three steps: paying the seat acceptance fee, uploading documents for verification, and responding to any queries raised during the verification process.

Failing to complete any of these steps will result in forfeiture of the allotted seat and disqualification from further rounds of counselling.

Seat Acceptance Fee

Payment of the seat acceptance fee is mandatory to confirm the allotment. General category candidates must pay Rs 30,000, while candidates from reserved categories are required to pay Rs 15,000. Non-payment by June 26 will result in automatic cancellation of the seat.

Fee Payment Resolution Window: June 29

For candidates who encounter issues during the payment or verification process, JoSAA has set aside June 29 as a dedicated resolution window. Applicants can use this date to address fee payment discrepancies or submit additional documents if verification authorities request clarification.

Round 2 Result on June 30

The counselling process continues with the Round 2 seat allotment result scheduled for June 30, 2026. Subsequent rounds will follow the official JoSAA schedule published on the portal.

Opening and Closing Ranks

JoSAA will publish opening and closing ranks for all participating institutions after all allotment rounds are completed. These figures will serve as a reference for admission trends across IITs, NITs, IIITs, IISc, and GFTIs and will be available on the official JoSAA portal.

Candidates are advised to monitor josaa.nic.in regularly and complete all reporting formalities well before the June 26 deadline to secure their allotted seat.
