Larry Ellison, the co-founder of Oracle, has contributed approximately $45 million to a political nonprofit group supporting Donald Trump’s 2024 election efforts. This funding, not previously reported, is not subject to public disclosure rules. The donation deepens Ellison’s private friendship with Trump, a relationship that has aided Oracle’s business interests and his son’s media conglomerate ambitions.
Ellison, 81, has cultivated a less public relationship with Trump compared to other CEOs. He did not attend the state visit to China with Trump, a White House dinner for tech titans, or a UFC event for Trump’s 80th birthday. Instead, their connection has developed through private channels, with financial support playing a significant role.
Beyond the initial $45 million, Ellison has given additional millions to Trump-supporting groups since the election. Some of these funds have gone towards Trump’s legacy initiatives in Washington, D.C. Oracle is also listed as a corporate sponsor for Freedom 250, a Trump-aligned group organizing celebrations for the country’s 250th birthday.
Federal disclosure filings indicate that Trump’s investment accounts actively traded Oracle shares earlier this year. This included a sale of at least $1 million in January and a purchase of at least $1 million in March. The Trump Organization has stated that the president’s investments are independently managed, and he is not involved in their selection or approval.
The relationship extends to Ellison’s son, David Ellison. While Larry Ellison was absent from a recent Ultimate Fighting Championship event at the White House, David Ellison was among the VIP attendees. This event occurred days after the Justice Department approved the $81 billion takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery by Paramount Skydance, David Ellison’s company. Paramount, under David Ellison’s leadership, paid billions for the rights to stream UFC events.
A White House spokesman, Kush Desai, stated that Trump is “committed to working with every American business and business leader.” Oracle declined to comment on the matter. The Ellisons and Trump share ideological beliefs, including support for Israel and criticism of some mainstream media outlets. David Ellison acquired The Free Press in 2025, further aligning his media interests.
The extent of future financial contributions from Larry Ellison to Trump-aligned groups remains undisclosed, given the nature of the political nonprofit funding. The ongoing interplay between these private financial ties and public business outcomes will be a point of continued observation. Future developments may reveal further details regarding the scope and impact of these relationships on both political and corporate landscapes.
